Navigating life after treatment presents special challenges and opportunities. The Blanchard Institute’s alumni program is designed to ensure you have the continuous support and resources needed to meet these challenges head-on.
The valued members of our alumni community embody the spirit of “change agents”—someone who doesn’t just transform their own life but also profoundly impact others. Their journey through recovery has prepared them to be beacons of hope and pillars of support in their communities.
Engaging with our community keeps alumni connected to vital support through exclusive events, ongoing education, and peer networking, reinforcing your commitment to a sober, fulfilling life.
One of those events is our annual change agent homecoming picnic! It offers alumni, families, and friends an opportunity to (re)connect, celebrate recovery, and enjoy an evening of food, fun, and fellowship.
We invite all of our change agents to come back home to where your recovery journey began and continue strengthening the bonds that support long-term sobriety.

“We want to stay connected with our clients and their families,” says Blanchard founder and CEO Ward Blanchard. “We put a structure in place to achieve that, because it’s very important to us. We like to keep in touch, especially in early recovery. We provide the space to have alumni gatherings and events.”
Your journey and successes equip you to guide new clients as they begin their paths to recovery. Through volunteer activities, community service projects, and mentorship roles, change agents can give back, providing the same support and inspiration that was crucial during their early recovery. Their involvement helps sustain a vibrant, supportive recovery environment that welcomes everyone.
The Blanchard Institute cultivates a safe, comfortable environment for clients and their families across North Carolina. Your journey to recovery doesn’t end with day or outpatient treatment, once you’re with Blanchard, we’re always there for you.
