ABOUT GEORGE W. BITAR, PH.D., LMFT

Dr. Bitar earned his doctorate at Texas Tech University in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2009 after having received his Master’s degree from Abilene Christian University. While in Texas, he served as Director of Behavioral Health Services at the Southwest Institute for Addictive Diseases. In 2009, he moved to Charlotte and went on to teach at Pfeiffer University, until devoting his professional energy to private practice.

Dr. Bitar is a well-respected expert with extensive experience in the field of addiction and family systems. Currently co-owner of Drew|Bitar Psychotherapy, on staff with Couples Connect Therapy, and a certified Gottman Method Couples Therapist, George specializes in working with couples and families as they navigate through difficult and painful issues, including addiction, mood disorders, and relationship challenges. He has been a leader in his field as well as having produced numerous publications and conference presentations on family systems and substance abuse.

ABOUT WARD BLANCHARD, MA, MBA, CCS, LCAS

Ward started his career within the field of mental health in the professionally fertile grounds of Southern California. Ward’s passion for treating SUDs and Dual Diagnosis focuses on treating clients through his unique Family Systems approach and modality, as well as educating the professional community on these issues and practices.

In 2017, Ward founded The Blanchard Institute, based in Charlotte, NC, in efforts to provide the most progressive family system, dual diagnosis support via Intensive Outpatient treatment. Ward’s private intervention practice, Blanchard & Associates, consists of a team of Clinical Interventionists traveling internationally to deliver family system style interventions to those in need.
