The Blanchard Institute can provide treatment through our Partial Hospitalization Program or our Intensive Outpatient Program to clients that require an assisted medical detox in an outpatient setting. The Outpatient Detoxification Client can receive treatment while they are managed and monitored by our Medical Director in his offsite physician practice to achieve a safe and comfortable withdrawal from mood altering drugs including alcohol. The Blanchard Institute utilizes an on-staff registered nurse with a specialty in addiction to provide thorough nursing assessments in conjunction with our Medical Director.
VIVITROL is indicated for the treatment of alcohol and opioid dependence in patients who are able to abstain from these substances in an outpatient setting. Patients should not be actively using alcohol or opioids at the time of the VIVITROL injection. VIVITROL should be part of a comprehensive management program that includes structured treatment. VIVITROL is a long-acting form of Naltrexone and has been shown to be generally well tolerated and effective for the treatment of alcohol dependence as part of a comprehensive management program. Unlike other medications that need to be taken every day, VIVITROL is taken just once a month. Patients must give consent to receive the Vivitrol injection.
