Abigail Lord is a native of Florida who moved to North Carolina in 1995. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. After working in the advancement field for nearly a decade, she furthered her education by earning her Master’s Degree in Philanthropic Studies at Indiana University—Purdue University in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition, she earned her Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning with the Charitable Estate Planning Institute.
She began her career in philanthropy and advancement in higher education at her alma mater, Lees-McRae College. After serving as a Development Officer, she took another step and is responsible for creating and implementing strategies that align with the mission, vision, and values to provide high-quality, evidence-based, and culturally responsive prevention and recovery services to individuals and families affected by substance use and behavioral mental health disorders.
Abigail is highly experienced as a philanthropic and business development executive. She is adept at working with a wide variety of demographics to formulate beneficial referral sources, community engagement programs, and business development programs that facilitate creative problem-solving.
Outside of her professional life, Abigail enjoys a range of activities. She is an avid golfer and swimmer and cherishes quality time with her family. Her dog, Piper, is her constant companion and keeps her on her toes.
