Partial Hospitalization Program

Comprehensive Day Treatment for a New Start

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), also recognized as Day Treatment, is a highly structured, intensive program designed to support clients through the critical early stages of recovery. This program focuses on addressing withdrawal symptoms, providing stabilization, and laying the groundwork for a successful transition to less intensive levels of care, such as our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).

I can’t even begin to express all my gratitude for Ward and The Blanchard Institute. Ward was a saving grace to me in a true time of need; he is truly a man of his word, and the staff members are very well trained and experienced.  So very thankful for their expert guidance and direction. The work they do with those suffering and their family is truly amazing. The workshops they provide really go into depth about the disease and give so much knowledge and education to those directly involved. You feel very a part of this process and they have so much hope to give – I can’t express this enough.

Why Choose Our PHP?

PHP serves as an essential bridge between inpatient detoxification and the journey toward long-term recovery. It’s particularly suited for individuals who need more support than typical outpatient services offer but are either unable or do not require full-time residential care.

Here’s what sets our PHP apart:

Duration: Spanning typically from two to four weeks, our program offers the flexibility to adjust based on individual progress, acuity, and care needs.

Holistic Approach: We treat the whole person, not just the symptoms or behaviors, through a combination of therapeutic modalities that encourage physical and emotional stabilization.

Dual Diagnosis Care: Our program is adept at diagnosing and treating any co-occurring mental health disorders alongside substance abuse, ensuring a comprehensive approach to recovery.

Program Structure and Benefits

Participants engage in a structured schedule Monday through Friday from 8:45 AM to 4:00 PM, crafting a routine that supports healing, neuroplasticity, and recovery. The program includes:

Weekly Therapy Sessions: Clients have access to both a therapist and psychiatrist on a weekly basis.

Diverse Therapies: A blend of individual, group, and family therapies, including BioSound Therapy, Recovery Yoga, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and more.

Life Skills and Support: From Life Skills Training to Nutrition and Case Management, we provide the tools needed for real-world coping and healing.

Community Connection: Our daily process groups and weekly support groups foster a supportive community among peers and professionals.

Partial Hospitalization Program FAQ’s

PHP is often ideal for those struggling with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, but lack the time or financial resources for residential treatment. PHP can also follow treatment at another center, such as a detox or residential program (if necessary), when individuals are seeking the strengths of The Blanchard Institute and ready to attend a Monday-Friday outpatient program. If you believe you or a loved one could be eligible for our Partial Hospitalization Program, we can assist in making that determination.

If you’re struggling with substance use or co-occurring mental health disorders, here are a few indicators that PHP may be necessary:

  • You have trouble functioning at work or school.
  • You experience severe mood swings or bouts of depression that affect your productivity and ability to focus on tasks.
  • Your illness impacts your relationship with friends, family, or coworkers (e.g. you feel isolated or your relationships suffer)
  • You have trouble taking care of yourself (e.g. self-care is difficult because you don’t know how to cope with symptoms like anxiety or depression)
