John Floyd

MC, LCMHC-A

PRIMARY THERAPIST, PARK ROAD

John has been working in the mental health field for several years, with experience in intensive residential recovery, private practice, and PHP/IOP treatment settings. Before transitioning into mental health counseling, he spent over a decade as an interior architect, but his passion for helping others led him to become a licensed mental health counselor—a decision he’s never regretted. Originally from Virginia, John has lived in NYC and Denver before settling in Charlotte, gaining a broad perspective on diverse challenges that individuals face. He is dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can develop skills to navigate life’s difficulties.

His approach blends professionalism with a down-to-earth, relatable personality that fosters connection and trust. John takes a trauma informed approach and is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Outside of work, John enjoys spending time with his spirited dog, Link, as well as gaming, reading, working out, cooking, and cherishing moments with loved ones.
